Combine Barre Chords With THIS To Improve Your Rhythm Chops | Bonus Content
This batch of bonus content is designed to supplement the material covered in this free YouTube lesson
Please watch the full YouTube video linked above before you watch any of the bonus content found here.
In the YouTube video I broke down the first four bars of a Jimi Hendrix 'Bold as Love' inspired rhythm etude I wrote. This etude features many examples of combining major barre chords with root notes on the 5th and 6th strings with 1st inversion major triads.
Triads are a very useful tool when it comes to embellishing your rhythm playing and to get you comfortable playing them, I have created 6 bonus exercises to help you get started combining 1st inversion major triads with major barre chords!
I've also put together a full video breakdown of the entire etude from the YouTube video with downloadable TAB files.
If you find that the etude is too technically challenging for you right now, the 6 bonus exercises have been designed with you in mind. They are intended to get you comfortable sliding in and out of 1st inversion triads from barre chord shapes and when put into practice, will prepare you well for taking on the etude.
Remember that with your subscription to the site, you have access to Parts 1 & 2 of my Bulletproof Guitar Player courses. Part 1 teaches you all you need to know about major, minor, diminished and augmented triads. You will learn how they are constructed, how and when to use them and how to play all inversions across all string sets.
As you will learn in that course, they are just as useful for lead playing as they are for rhythm playing. If your knowledge of music theory fundamentals is lacking somewhat, I would strongly encourage you to begin working your way through these courses, starting with Part 1 - Master the Fretboard
- Video breakdown of the etude from the YouTube video
- 6 bonus exercises that combine barre chords with 1st inversion triads
- TAB files for all of the above (PDF & Guitar Pro)
