Recently I posted an instagram reel/TikTok of me explaining a note choice that John Mayer will often make when improvising solos in minor keys, over songs like Slow Dancing In a Burning Room.

In this short lesson I explained how John likes to target major 2nd's (aka 9th's) with bends over minor chords, which is a note choice that can add a lot of emotion to your minor solos.

Since that short was well received, I decided to expand on it and put together a batch of lesson content that teaches you three licks you can play over the solo section to Slow Dancing In a Burning Room.
