Spicy Licks - Package 1

My free YouTube lessons on Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson have always been well received, and since I can't get enough of those lead playing styles, I thought it was about time that I created a dedicated lick package that dives a bit deeper into the intricacies behind their signature pentatonic runs.

These lessons were designed for players with an understanding of theory that would be equivalent to the level of material taught in both Parts 1 and 2 of Bulletproof Guitar Player - so if you have gone through both of those courses already, you're in a good place to start learning these licks and understand why they sound the way that they do. My hope is that through analysing the theory behind each lick, you will be able to apply the concepts to your own playing to come up with similar licks of your own!

That being said, even if you don't yet have a good grasp on music theory, Parts 1 & 2 of Bulletproof Guitar Player are included as part of your subscription to the site. That means that you can go ahead and learn the licks in this package with TAB, and also begin studying the material taught in those courses so that you can eventually understand the theory behind them.

In this package, you will learn 10 licks that utilise several interesting improvisational concepts, including:

  • Adding notes from mixolydian to minor pentatonic scale positions
  • The major triad pair found within the mixolydian scale
  • Odd-note groupings
  • Spread voice triads

If you have an active subscription to the site, you can stream this course now. You can also buy this course and own it forever for $20.00.

What's Included?

  • 2 hours of streamable HD video lessons
  • 14 downloadable PDF attachments to supplement video lessons
  • Backing track
  • TAB & notation for all licks
